Lyme Disease

Lyme DiseaseThe BioMat is a valuable tool in the ongoing treatment of Lyme disease. It is great for reducing pain, but more importantly, it changes the conditions of the body in ways that make things difficult for spirochetes, and other parasitic organisms.

BioMat treatments involve both far infrared and negative ion therapy. This is a powerful combination, which can raise core body temperature, increase oxygenation of the blood, and even raise pH. All of these changes amount to a more difficult environment for many opportunistic invaders. Plus, the increased core temperature acts as an artificial fever, which can heighten immune response.

Higher intensity treatments will often produce die-off of these invaders, which can sometimes produce Herxheimer, or “detox” reactions. But the severity of these reactions usually diminishes after a few treatments. It is good to start with a medium setting and work up, since some people have a stronger detox reaction than others.

The full-body treatment of the BioMat Professional has a more profound effect against the disease, compared to the MiniMat, but many Lyme sufferers also find the MiniMat to be a useful tool.

I would trade meds for the bio mat meaning if I had to choose, it would be the Bio-Mat hands down. There are several users here who have them and could say the same thing. I did post elsewhere but I have several articles on FIR technology and the Bio-Mat. Others will pipe in on this later today since I have crazy hours. For pain, even FMS patients can use one for a fifteen-minute session and have pain decreased miraculously for three days/more. It’s awesome and I WISH I would have taken Ron’s advice and bit the bullet as I BET you I spent more money than the price of the mat in pain meds/sleep meds in that time that I hummed and hawed about the price. I know, it’s tough I have begged for a payment plan for chronic pain/ illnesses and those on disability.

I just bought a biomat. I have been using it since Sunday night. I put it on the high setting for 30 minutes and then I have it at the lowest yellow after that (I think 104). I do love this- and it really makes it so I can sweat out these toxins- even better than the infrared sauna.

I did read that the highest setting kills bacteria/viruses- but not to stay on that for more than 30-45 minutes. You can stay at the low settings all night according to the information on it.

I am really happy that I bought this- I got the professional size and it is plenty big enough!
Yesterday- I felt so great I went for a 2 hour bike ride with my kids at a state beach park that has bike trails. I think this a great adjunct therapy.

I have had wonderful experiences with the biomat. Honestly, it’s one of the best purchases I’ve made.

I actually have two. One is a full, professional size and it rests on the floor. When I need some deep rest and/or detox, or just needing some big support, I will lay on it for anywhere from 30 minutes – 2 hours at a time.

At 30 minutes I use more of a high heat level, and 2 hours at a lower heat, when I just want to rest and get the benefit of a light sweat for a longer period, and heat into my body. It also helps me rest more deeply, and have the benefit of that sort of deep rest during the day.

My second biomat is a small sized one — I’m not sure what it’s called on the websites, but it’s basically like a half sized one. I lean against this on the couch.

I spend most of my time couchbound, and having the biomat there has been huge in keeping my pain levels low, helping my circulation, and maintaining a general sense of wellbeing. I get chilled easily too, so it just feels good.

Sometimes I don’t realize how much the biomat does, since it’s just always there. But then if I have to spend a day away from it for some reason, I inevitably start aching and hurting and feeling stagnation in my body (because I can’t move much and my circulation is poor). Then I remember how glad I am to have the biomat.

It has been a quiet friend for me over the last year. Also, I can take the small sized one on trips on those rare occasions.

For me, the small sized biomat helps with my general level of health and wellbeing — helping support me during the day. The larger sized one is better for detoxing and getting a good sweat — for deep rest and deeper work.
